Ford Bronco 5.8L Engine Controls Wiring Diagram 25-2 - Injectors, PCM, IAC
Engine controls wiring diagram for 5.8L showing air injection solenoids, canister purge, idle air control valve and fuel injector circuits.
This document is page 25-2 of a Ford wiring diagram set covering Engine Controls for the 5.8L engine. It shows the 12V relay-energized power feed (circuit 361 R) coming from splice S122 (page 25-1) and distributing through splices S149 and S151 to the emissions and fuel components: the Secondary Air Injection Bypass (AIRB) solenoid (C1022), Secondary Air Injection Diverter (AIRD) solenoid (C1023), Canister Purge solenoid (C171), Idle Air Control valve (C1007), and all eight fuel injectors (connectors C190–C197). Injector control returns are on circuits 555 T and 556 W through splices S159/S160 to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), a solid-state module, with control-side circuits 190 W/O, 200 BR, 101 GY/Y, and 264 W/LB landing on PCM pins 51, 11, 31, and 21. The lower portion shows PCM connections to the All-Wheel Drive system (pin 12, 784 LB/BK via C185, page 34-3), the Vehicle Speed Sensor (pins 6 and 3, circuits 676 PK/O and 679 GY/BK, pages 64-1/64-2), and the E4OD transmission (pins 38, 19, 52, 55, 42, 26, 30, 32, 41; pages 30-1/30-2). Explanatory callouts describe each solenoid's function. A reader can trace wire colors, circuit numbers, connector IDs, and PCM pin assignments for diagnosis.

Frequently asked questions
- What PCM pins connect to the E4OD transmission on the 5.8L engine controls diagram?
- Pins 38 (925 W/Y), 19 (315 P/O), 52 (237 O/Y), 55 (924 O/BK), 42 (923 BR/O), 26 (199 P/Y), 30 (480 LB/Y), 32 (911 W/LG), and 41 (224 T/W), referenced to pages 30-1 and 30-2.
- What circuit powers the fuel injectors on the 5.8L?
- Circuit 361 R, a 12V relay-energized feed coming from splice S122 (page 25-1) through splices S149/S151 to injector connectors C190 through C197.
- What wire colors go to the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)?
- PCM pin 6 uses circuit 676 PK/O and pin 3 uses circuit 679 GY/BK, with details on pages 64-1 and 64-2.
- What does the Canister Purge Solenoid do according to this diagram?
- When the PCM grounds the solenoid, fuel vapors collected by the carbon canister are released to the engine. It connects via C171 on circuit 264 W/LB to PCM pin 31 (101 GY/Y) area.
- How does the Idle Air Control valve work per the callout?
- It controls idle speed during all modes of engine operation. The PCM sends duty cycles that control a solenoid which opens or closes an air bypass depending on the signal received.
