1996 Ford Bronco 5.0L Engine Controls Wiring Diagram - PCM & Fuel Pump Relay 24-1
Ford 5.0L engine controls wiring diagram of PCM power relay, mass air flow sensor and fuel pump relay circuits with color-coded wires.
This document is page 24-1 of a Ford factory-style wiring diagram covering the Engine Controls circuit for the 5.0L engine. It shows power distribution from the engine compartment fuse box — fuse U (20A, hot in start or run) feeding the PCM power diode via circuit 16 R/LG and 175 BK/Y, and fuses I and O (20A each, hot at all times) feeding the PCM power relay and fuel pump relay via circuit 37 Y. The PCM power relay output (circuit 361 R, 12V relay energized) splices at S136 and feeds the mass air flow (MAF) sensor, the E4OD (page 30-2) or 4R70W (page 29-3) transmission, and connector C101 (pages 24-3, 24-4). The fuel pump relay output (238 DG/Y) routes through splice S139 and connector C202 to the inertia fuel shutoff switch (page 24-8). PCM pin numbers, ground circuits (57 BK to G100/G104, 570 BK/W to G101 via splice S106), and VIP data link connector circuits (926 LB/O, 209 W/P, 914 T/O, 915 PK/LB at C198/C199) are shown, along with footnotes distinguishing E4OD/4R70W applications and cross-references to grounds pages 10-1 and 10-3.

Frequently asked questions
- What fuses power the PCM and fuel pump relays on the 5.0L engine controls circuit?
- Fuse U (20A, hot in start or run) feeds the PCM power diode, while fuses I and O (both 20A, hot at all times) in the engine compartment fuse box feed the PCM power relay and fuel pump relay via circuit 37 (Yellow).
- What wire color and circuit number is the PCM power relay output?
- The PCM power relay output is circuit 361, Red wire, showing 12V when the relay is energized. It splices at S136 and feeds the MAF sensor, the transmission (E4OD or 4R70W), and connector C101.
- What circuit runs from the fuel pump relay to the inertia fuel shutoff switch?
- Circuit 238, Dark Green/Yellow (DG/Y), 12V with the relay energized, routes through splice S139 and connector C202 to the inertia fuel shutoff on page 24-8.
- What are the PCM ground circuits on this diagram?
- Circuit 57 BK grounds at G100 and G104 (see grounds pages 10-1 and 10-3), and circuit 570 BK/W from PCM pin 40 grounds at G101 via splice S106.
- What wires connect to the mass air flow (MAF) sensor?
- The MAF sensor at connector C130 receives 361 R (12V relay energized) power, with signal/return circuits 967 LB/R and 968 T/LB going to the PCM.
