Ford Bronco Rock Slider Blueprint - Tube Sizes, Weights & Frame Mount Design

This is a hand-drawn blueprint/sketch for fabricating rock sliders (frame-mounted side protection bars) for a Ford Bronco. The drawing shows a 66-inch slider assembly attaching to the Bronco frame using four legs made of 1.5 x .25 tube averaging 18 inches in length, a 1.5 x .25 tube slider rail (3 lbs per linear foot), and a 1.5 x .188 outer tube (2.37 lbs per linear foot) with beveled ends. Mounting uses a .25-inch foot plate with a .188-inch backing plate on the frame. The proposed design weighs 47.5 lbs, or about 50 lbs including foot plates, backing plates, and bolts. Design advantages listed include a stronger outer tube, lightest design, supported ends, and no extra bolts into the frame (still only two feet). For comparison, alternative slider designs are noted: one using two 2x2x.25 legs, a 2x3x.25 slider, and 1.5x.120 tube at 68 lbs; and a 2x2x.25 slider version at 58 lbs.
