How the Circuit Works when the ignition switch is turned to HUN or ACCY . . . I powerlravels through fuse 10 to the radio I sound" leaves the radio as electrical impulses to the speakers I The AM and AM/FM monaural radios have a single dash-mounted speaker I the AM/FM multiplex radio has a speaker mounted in each door Trouble-Shooting It there is no sound . . . I turn tuner to assure the radio is on a broadcasting frequency I check lor loose or disconnected antenna lead at the radio I check lor unplugged connector(s) at the speaker(s) if the radio is still inoperative . .. I check tuse 10 I check for power to luse 10 I check for power to radio connector Checking For Power Al Fladio Connector If there is power at the radio connector . . . I turn olf radio I disconnect speakerls) I check speakercircuit To check speaker circuit . . . I check continuity of each speaker circuit at speaker connection (under dash for AM and AM/FM monaural and at doors for AM/FM multiplex) I check these connections for speaker resistance 012 - 4 ohms I listen for slight popping sound as sell-powered test light is connected to the speaker circuit(s) If slngle speaker system tails . . . I replace the speaker if dual speaker system fails t . . I check wiring between speaker connectors at the speaker and the connector at the radio l1 wiring checks out OK . . . I replace damaged speaker(s) |fspeakercircult(s)passalltests . . . I replace damaged speaker(s)
