Ford Gray Remote Mount TFI Ignition Module Wiring Diagram - EEC-IV Schematic

This document is a wiring schematic for the gray remote-mounted TFI (Thick Film Ignition) ignition module used in Ford EEC-IV ignition systems, published by RJM Injection Technologies (www.fordfuelinjection.com, copyright 2005). The diagram shows the eight-pin distributor connector (pins 1–8) and how each circuit routes through aluminum-shielded harness sections to the TFI module connector, the SPOUT connector, the ignition coil, the ignition relay, the battery, and the ignition switch RUN circuit. A separate feed provides 12 volts during START only. Four EEC (engine computer) pin assignments are identified: EEC pin 16 (IGN GND), EEC pin 56 (PIP), EEC pin 36 (SPOUT), and EEC pin 4 (IDM), with the IDM circuit passing through a 22K ohm resistor. A tach signal tap point ("To Tach") is shown at the coil negative side. A reader can learn how the remote-mounted gray TFI module is wired between the distributor, ignition coil, and EEC computer, which EEC pins carry the PIP, SPOUT, IDM, and ignition ground signals, where the SPOUT connector sits in the circuit, and where aluminum shielding is used on the harness. It is useful for diagnosing no-spark conditions, tach hookups, and TFI/EEC signal troubleshooting.
