Ford TSB 88-5-14 Oil Pressure Switch & Resistor Jumper Wiring Diagram

This document is Figure 5 from Ford Technical Service Bulletin Article 88-5-14 (page 38, drawing reference TB-9491-A). It illustrates the oil pressure indicating system after a rework procedure that replaces the original oil pressure sender with a new oil pressure switch assembly (identified as WHITE) connected through a resistor jumper wire assembly. The jumper plugs into connector C2001 on the vehicle wiring harness, on circuit No. 258 with wire color DB/LG DOT (dark blue/light green with dot tracer). The lower half of the page shows the electrical schematic after rework: the dash oil pressure gauge (marked L to H, fed by B+) is connected through a 20-ohm resistor to a normally open oil pressure switch that closes at 4.5-7.5 PSI. When the switch closes, the gauge reads approximately mid-scale. A reader can learn the component layout for the retrofit (switch, resistor jumper, harness connector), the correct wire color and circuit number for identification, the switch's operating pressure range, the resistor value, and the expected gauge behavior after the modification is completed.
